A WELCOME FROM CPI FOUNDER CLAIRE MENDELSOHN
Hello! I'm Claire Mendelsohn, founder of Cuddle Professionals International. I also blazed the trail for the acceptance of platonic touch as therapy when I opened the UK's very first professional cuddle service BeSnuggled back in 2013. Until 2022 I used my "professional" cuddler name Kitty Mansfield.
I'm an experienced, qualified massage and holistic tutor, Reiki practitioner and professional cuddler, and I'm humbled by the power of human touch to soothe and heal. While holistic massage has certainly helped my clients deal with their aches and pains, I always felt that there was a part of the jigsaw still missing. After much research into touch and its benefits I decided in 2015 that the time was right to launch Cuddle Professionals International, the very first professional Cuddle Therapy training, certification and membership body.
I recognised the need for regulation within the profession, a comprehensive training course to ensure responsible, ethical practice, a professional membership body to provide a support network, specialist insurance for cuddle professionals, and certified and trained professional cuddlers that prospective clients can book with confidence.

Whether you are an experienced therapist, a student, an interested health professional, a prospective client or are completely new to cuddle therapy, I warmly welcome you. My mission is to promote professional cuddling as a valuable holistic therapy modality, to
clarify what it is - and, as importantly, what it isn't - and to educate by demonstrating that touch is vital to our health and well-being in an increasingly disconnected and medically-ailing society.
Cuddle Professionals International is a registered and approved Complementary Medical Association training provider, and we set the gold standard for professional cuddlers worldwide. I am passionate about supporting you on every step of your journey as a CPI practitioner.

Promoting Consensual Touch for Health and Wellbeing
Cuddle Professionals International is the only membership and certification body for professional cuddlers who are new to this fast-growing therapy modality, or who wish to offer Cuddle Therapy as part of, or in addition to, their existing therapist repertoire. CPI was the first to offer a professionally accredited course in cuddling as a holistic therapy and the first to offer professional insurance cover for your Cuddle Therapy practice.
What does "accredited" actually mean?
1. That you agree to practice and are bound by the ethics and values set by your accrediting body, ie CPI.
2. That the diploma awarded is fully accredited for insurance and professional practice. CPI is the only organisation in Europe to have their training and diploma recognised for professional insurance cover by both the Complementary Medical Association and the IICT
(International Institute for Complementary Therapists).
